Teething begins at around six to ten months of age and up to twenty five to thirty three months. It can be considered over your child get their permanent teeth molars. There are some common teething myths for babies:
Teething can cause fever
It does give pain, irritation and a little increase in temperature on the gums, but it can never cause fever. Some researchers found that teething babies put everything in their mouth which can cause infection from the bacteria that leads to fever.
Teething causes diarrhea
Same as fever, diarrhea will not occur when baby is at teething stage. The most common cause are the things babies put inside their mouth that leads to diarrhea.
Teething always hurt
Teething on babies have different effects, some babies become fussy and irritated because of the swelling and inflammation but other are not. Some babies feel nothing when teething stage start.
Teething must be treated
It is one of the most known teething myths. Parents are worried when babies become fussy and can’t sleep well especially at night, so they tend to put ointment and other unnecessary things that may harm the babies. When in fact being fussy and irritated are normal because of the pain they are experiencing. Giving them a clean teether will help them ease the pain.
