Proper Care for your Succulents

Succulents are plants with thick fleshy leaves and stems where they can store moisture and water.

Here are some tips on how to take care of your lovely and beautiful succulents:

Before anything else, choose the perfect pot for your succulents, depending on the type, size, and height. Always make sure that the pots have hole drainage at the bottom, so the water will run out from it. Clay pots are one of the best pot to choose because they absorb moisture than plastic and cement pots.

Succulents love light, they need about five to six hours sun exposure per day, depending on their variety, morning sunlight are the best some succulents scorch in direct sunlight, full sun exposure may damage them try to give them shade when sun is at its top heat.

Water the soil depending on the weather. Watering once a week is enough for spring season, twice to trice per week in the summer season. Make sure that you water them directly to the soil and allow water to flow out the drainage holes.

Choose the right soil, succulent roots are sensitive and fragile you need to be careful in repotting and placing them to the soil. Sand, pumice and perlite are the best choice for succulents.

Removing bugs from your succulents as long as you see any trace of them, spraying the soil with 70% isopropyl alcohol or using cinnamon with water will surely kill the bugs and their eggs in your plant. You don’t actually need to buy expensive and harmful pesticide to get rid of them.
